Omnilyne Limited is a company based in Ndola, Zambia that is dedicated to the sourcing, supply and installation of electrical equipment and also sourcing and supply of mechanical parts and refractories as well as Marketing and distribution of specialized consumer and industrial adhesives. Their main goal is to bring Zambia closer to the new technology for sustainable and renewable energy resources equipment and processes.

Omnilyne began operations in 1995 with the importation and distribution of the range of consumer and industrial adhesives manufactured by Pratley (Pty) Ltd of Krugersdorp, RSA.

Full national distribution in retail hardware and automotive accessories outlets they achieved by early 1996, and today, they remain Pratley’s sole distributors for Zambia. Stock of consumer and industrial presentations of the adhesives is maintained in their Ndola premises for rapid delivery. Apart from the PRATLEY distributorship they are the Sole Agent for MARTHINUSSEN & COUTTS, ABERDARE CABLES & ACTOM Products.

In parallel with the adhesives venture, they have established long-term, regular supplier/client relationships with major Zambian industrial users in the fields of electrical, mechanical and refrigeration equipment, for the most part delivered by road or air freight within 14 days of receipt of order, with courier delivery in the case of urgent spares. Not only punctual delivery, but also a policy of regular follow-up of all enquiries and deliveries, has contributed to maintaining these relationships.

In those cases where off-the-shelf solutions to clients’ problems and needs were not available, they have provided custom-made solutions from a pool of expertise developed and maintained by our associate company in Johannesburg, Omniconnect cc. This company employs full-time staff exclusively to source high-quality products of internationally known manufacturers for Zambian industry, at the lowest possible price.

In mid-1996 they moved to a small office and factory premises in the Ndola Industrial Area, to accommodate increasing stock obligations.

At the end of 2007 they acquired the ownership of MORGANITE ZAMBIA and re-located their offices to b14 Vitanda Street, Ndola where both companies share the premises. With this acquisition they are well placed to service all electrical requirements in both LV and MV power ranges and therefore offer a “one stop shop” facility to all of our customers. Morganite has a fully equipped workshop and is able to manufacture LV DB’s as well as Carbon Brushes. The DB’s are equipped with SCHNEIDER switchgear and they are registered as a Schneider partner.

In August 2010 the Company acquired an additional premises located in Arusha Street (ex Neon & General building) and re-located to these premises in January 2011. Morganite still operates out of the Vitanda Street premises.

In November 2013 the Company opened a branch in Lusaka so that it can more effectively service its Lusaka based customers. The branch is conveniently situated on the Kafue road in the Eureka Park Complex.

Over the past 8 years the Company has aggressively developed the MV Switchgear and Protection and Control market. To this end they managed to get ACTOM specified on one of the largest copper mines (Mopani Copper Market) and have installed and commissioned over 200 panels on various sites. They have also constructed 5 complete MV Substations. They utilise the services of Zambian based Companies for all of our civil work.

Over the years they managed to secure preferential supply and Agency agreements with a number of large reputable manufacturers and are therefore in a position to offer their products and services at good prices.  Their main achievements and milestones were the Construction of Substations and Installation of New Actom 11/3.3kV Panels for expansion projects. The Replacement of Old Oil filled Switchgear with New MV SF6 Panels and the installation of 11kV Power Factor Correction Equipment, the Supply of modern Protection Relays and Servicing and repair of existing Switchgear panels.

Omnilyne has several of current important projects such astheSupply of New 11kV Switchgear for new Shafts, the extension of existing power factor correction equipment and also the repair and return of large rotating electrical machines and transformers.

Omnilyne will continue with the current direction but increase the current product range and exposure. They also are looking for to establish more branches covering the new mining areas as well as the Involvement with new sustainable power projects and “green” renewable energy equipment. They also pretend to expand manufacturing facility.
