FERPHOS, the National company of Iron and Phosphate, is based in Tébessa (East of algeria) and is a leading mining company with the largest market capitalisation in algeria. It operates mines of phosphate, iron ore, pouzzolane and development projects in algeria.

    Direct application

    Soft and highly reactive Djebel-Onk phosphate rock assaying 29/30% P2 O5 owns appropriate characteristics for a direct application and can be used as a fertilizer. Such features increase, as well as, its agronomic efficiency known throughout the world to attain that of wholy soluble fertilizers in acid soils and which direct application extends even on neutral soils. On the basis of studies and laboratory tests conducted by leading international expert: the C.I.R.A.D. and the I.F.D.C.

  • The reserves of rock phosphate allow the company to justify a policy of re-evaluation and development having the aim to be attracted by transformation industry of rock phosphate into fertilizers (TSP, NPK...)

  • The realisation of phosphoric acid fertilizers plants is a target of development

  • Trading

    Djebel-Onk’s rock phosphate is mainly commercialised on the international market. Nevertheless, there are currently new prospecting to develop new markets.The export trade is carried out by the FERPHOS’ capacities at the port of Annaba, which can accept ore ships of 50 000 tons.
