KITWE
Sixty-four kilometres west of Ndola is the town of
Kitwe, another hub of Copperbelt mining and related
activities, as well as being and the principle indus-
trial and commercial centre of the region. The city
owes its existence to the copper mining industry but
a considerable number of secondary industries have
since been substantially well established. Kitwe has
a large commercial shopping area including large
hotels, a cinema and theatre.
The good central location of the Kitwe within the
Copperbelt region has made it the most popular
choice for industrial developers.
